  • ALL NAHS 9th graders (including transfer students) have required summer reading assignments that are due at the start of the school year.

  • The assignments are part of the 9th Grade Literature Class curriculum and count as a major test grade in the class.

  • Having these required assignments completed and ready to turn in at the beginning of the new school is very important; other major assignments at the start of the year will also be based on the completion of the summer reading.

  • You can either purchase the texts in paperback format or digital.

  • If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Chantel Lowe via email:

PTSA Prospective Parent Tours:

With a few exceptions, the North Atlanta PTSA Parent Tour Committee hosts tours for prospective parents including those with students at Sutton each month beginning in October. The tours are an opportunity to learn about NAHS programs and curriculum, get some of your questions answered, and take a tour of our beautiful campus. Rising 8th graders and transfer students are welcome to join their parents on tours. You'll also have an opportunity to engage with a few of our stellar students and talented teachers.

Private/Non-Feeder Middle School Student Enrollment for 2024-25 School Year

Rising 9th grade students who are not currently attending Sutton MS will be required to go through the new student enrollment process with the NAHS registrar’s office. The APS registration portal and registration form for the 2024-25 school year will be available online starting on June 1. For more information, please visit the APS Enrollment & Registration webpage.

Private/Non-Feeder Middle School Student Course Selection/Pre-Registration

In the spring, NAHS will offer three Pre-Registration Course Selection Sessions for rising 9th graders coming from private or non-feeder middle schools (any school other than Sutton MS). These sessions will provide an overview of 9th grade course offerings, academic placement guidelines, an opportunity for students/parent to pre-select courses and electives for the upcoming school year. There will also be a student led campus tour and Q&A afterwards.

NAHS Rising 9th Grade Transfer Student Pre-Registration Sessions

(For 8th Grade students currently attending a Private or Non-Feeder MS only)

The Pre-Registration Sessions for the 2024-25 school year will take place at NAHS on March 13, March 27 and April 24. All sessions are in person and will start at 4:30pm in the NAHS Media Center on the 2nd floor.

-RSVP using the link or QR code provided on the flyer below.

-Both Students and parents should plan on attending.

-A copy of student's 8th grade report card, schedule and standardized test scores from middle school will be needed to determine academic placement.

-Additional session information will be sent to families who have RSVP’d prior to their session.

Click here for the Spring 2024 Pre-Registration Session Flyer and RSVP link

Students/Parents who do not attend one of these sessions will not select classes until August.

Please note that these pre-registration sessions are separate from and do not include the enrollment process that needs to take place with the registrar’s office. Students will not be registered in any North Atlanta courses until the enrollment process has been completed with the NAHS registrar over the summer. This will help to prevent students/parents from having to wait until August to select classes and make for a smoother and seamless start to the new school year.

Once the enrollment process is complete, the classes pre-selected in March can be entered to create the student’s schedule. We will do our best to accommodate all pre-selected course requested, however availability of pre-selected classes are not guaranteed.
